It is not plastic (ABS). Lips are made of a epoxy-glass composite.
But this is NOT the same material, which is widely used. It is not cheap and fragile polyester! In this case, only the reinforcement glass or fabric mat is the same.

Epoxy-glass / epoxy-carbon composites are for example used in aircraft due to the high strength characteristics and low weight, minimal shrinkage during curing - only 0.2% (polyester is several times greater), dimensional stability, a high degree of flexibility.
The only problem is the high price of epoxy resins and difficult process.

Ja by som do toho šiel, vyzerá to pomerne solídne a za tú cenu, prečo nie

jsem chtěl lip, abych se "odlišil"...jak to tak vypadá, tak tý odlištnosti docílim tak, že se na lip vyprdnu:D

Nuž, u nás je MX-5 tak málo, že si to kupujem čisto kvôli sebe, lebo sa mi to na aute páči, keď ho to opticky zníži.
